We've seen a significant slowdown on several services in the last few minutes, this is affecting email and web for some sites.

Update 15:30

The cause of this is a denial of service attack on some systems, we have a 30x increase in network connections at the moment.

We are implementing some countermeasures to divert unwanted traffic but we expect disruption to service to continue for another while.

Update 17:30

Most of the traffic has been diverted at this stage, we expect most services to be back to normal within the next hour or two.

Update 21:30

We were able to restore services earlier, but there are some continuing issues which will take another hour or two to sort out

Update 22:55

All services should be back to normal now.
