Mail system issue - qmail.irishdomains.com [Resolved]
Posted by Helpdesk Admin on 10 March 2017 11:13 AM

We have reports of customers experiencing issues accessing mail on our servers.

We're currently investigating the issue and will report with further detail as soon as possible.

If outlook or other email program prompts for a new password you should not enter a different password - once the server is working correctly you will be able to log in normally.

[Update 11:45]

This appears to be a problem with our storage array so we have suspended mail services for now.

Current estimate is that services will be unavailable for about two hours (we will update if this changes).

We apologise for any inconvenience.

[Update 13:40]

Storage systems are back online and we will be bringing up services one by one over the next 15 minutes starting with webmail and SMTP submission.

Note that due to queued incoming messages, there may be a residual delay on delivery over the next few hours - as our system rate limits inbound emails at time of high load, please ensure when sending messages that you are using the recommended SMTP port 587.

[Update 14:00]

All services are up and running. Sending & receiving will be slower than usual for a while and return to normal once all queues have flushed
